Content Station is part of a new generation of content editors, built to author, edit, and publish content to a variety of channels, whether they be online or in print. With a dedicated publishing panel, Content Station users can choose to preview content for a channel, update already sent content, publish content to a channel, or unpublish it.

Unpublish content? Yes, that is not a typo. Today’s technology makes it easy to bridge systems, so why shouldn’t it be easy to unpublish content? Not all types of output channels support an unpublish model (Twitter or SMS being good examples) but for RSS or Web site publishing, Content Station allows an unpublish command to be sent to the host system so that it can be removed without requiring an additional systems person to be involved.

Publish content to a variety of output channels with Content StationAs for previewing, Content Station allows users to send content to an output system (such as a web content management system) and see what it will look like when published. There are no extra templates to maintain, no intermediate systems converting the content that might break, simply a transmission to the other system and a response. And content can be simultaneously scheduled for multiple output channels without the need to duplicate it.

What’s the secret to this content magic? Content Station makes use of a new publishing architecture in WoodWing’s Enterprise system that allows for different publishing engines to be associated with different channel types. These engines drive the functionality within Content Station and tell the application what to do when publishing, updating, etc. This is far superior to other vendors who use their same legacy publishing system and just convert between formats.
